Editor's Note
Inscription and history: There are three inscriptions on the basin panel of the fountain. The first, set within a triangle, is a date inscription. The second is in a rectangular panel, in a single column of five lines. The third is enclosed in a circle and is a single line. Written in relief in the celî ta'lik script, the inscriptions are in Ottoman Turkish. Apart from these, there is a later-added repair inscription dated 1952, written in modern Turkish on a triangular crest.
