Editor's Note
The remains of an old waterway are found in a wooded area about 3.5 km northeast of the center of Çakıllı. The water channel was built as a vault of rubble stone and lime mortar, 50 cm below the surface. The channel is roughly 80 cm wide and 120 cm high. Part of the channel was exposed by soil erosion and part by treasure hunters' digs, and it has been damaged. According to the inventory report, it dates to the Roman period.
