Çorlu Castle was built in the Middle Ages to guard against raids and attacks that might come through the Balkans and Europe and cross into Anatolia. The castle was built of rubble stone, brick, and horasan mortar. Surviving from it today are the foundations of two towers, the area thought to be the likely castle entrance based on traces of a brick arch, and the connected curtain walls.
