Asma Kaya Mağara Manastırı, Vize

Located 1,650 meters northeast of the district center, the Asma Kaya locality is a rocky-formation valley. Within this valley are carved spaces, both natural and man-made (dwellings, churches), terracotta water pipes, and amorphous pottery fragments. The site was probably settled during the Late Roman and Early Byzantine periods. Three different churches can be seen here. The middle church is the largest of them, measuring roughly 10 by 6 meters with a ceiling height of about 5 meters. There is also another section carved into the rock at the upper right of the apse.
