Şerbetdar Hasan Bey Mosque was once the center of a synagogue, but was converted into a mosque in the 14th century by Gelibolu Mir-i Ekber Hasan Bey. Square in plan, cubic in form, and covered by a single dome, it was built of rubble, rough-hewn and finely cut stone, brick, and reused spolia. The structure, which in places shows alternating courses of masonry, makes particular use of marble in the door and window jambs and in the entrance arch. Stone and brick were applied in alternating courses on the arches, drum, and dome.
