Editor's Note
Surface surveys and chance finds (old storage jars, pieces of copper) have established that a community lived in this region between 1200 and 1700 BC — that is, from the Early Bronze Age to the beginning of the Iron Age. This shows that the region held a strategic position along the ancient migration and passage routes of Thrace.
