Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Yukarısırt village, in the Muratlı district of Tekirdağ province. The site holds gravestones dated to the Ottoman period. Four of these are made of marble and date to between AH 1195 and 1315 (AD 1780 to 1897). The 9th Ottoman Sultan, Yavuz Sultan Selim Han, died on 22 September 1520 near Çorlu, in the vicinity of the village of Muratlı/Yukarısırt, while marching on his Western campaign (to Edirne). His internal organs were buried in Yukarısırt village.
