The exact date of the Zindan Baba Tomb is unknown. According to some sources it was built during the reign of Çelebi Mehmed (1413–1421) for the standard-bearer of Gazi Evrenos Bey, while according to another source it is the tomb of a foreman who worked on the building of the complex and was unjustly imprisoned.
