Editor's Note
It stands within the boundaries of the village of Aslıhan in the Uzunköprü district of Edirne. Built of finely cut stone, the fountain was evidently constructed in the eclectic style that emerged in the second half of the 19th century. The trilingual inscription in the center of the facade uses Ottoman Turkish, Greek and French, and bears the Rumi date 1312 (1896 AD). Repaired in the 1970s, it has largely lost its original character. It was registered as a Protected Immovable Cultural Property (Group 1) by decision no. 2693 of the Directorate of the Edirne Regional Council for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, dated 13 October 2015.
