Editor's Note
The Liberty Monument was erected on 24 July 1908 to mark the reinstatement of the constitutional charter and the formation of the Chamber of Deputies. The monument's four faces are inscribed with the universal principles of the French Revolution: liberty, justice, equality, and fraternity. When the bridge was repaired in 1965, the monument was moved slightly further off the bridge, its stones numbered, and a new inscription placed on its pedestal. Made of cufeki stone, the monument is 6.76 meters tall, reaching 8.11 meters with its stone ornamentation. The monument is the symbol of Uzunkopru. Reference: [1] (2013).
