Editor's Note
Nafia Bridge is a large nine-pier highway bridge located about 1 km north of the center of Eskikoy village. On the Turkey-Greece border and still in use, the bridge is ruined only in the part spanning the Meric River. During World War II the bridge was blown up to secure the border and sever the Turkey-Greece connection. The bridge was repaired in the 1960s, but only the sections within the Turkish border were restored. Its piers were built entirely of neatly cut stone, and its edge stones are oval.
