Editor's Note
It is located within the boundaries of the village of Akincilar, in the Meric district of Edirne province. The cemetery contains numerous Ottoman-era gravestones. The oldest legible gravestone has been dated to AH 1103 (AD 1691). The cemetery also contains many gravestones known locally as black stones. The presence of these black stones, many of which have nearly sunk beneath the soil, suggests that the cemetery existed in even earlier times. The cemetery is still in use today.
