Ahi Evren Mosque was rebuilt in 1890 as a continuation of the existing complex of mosque, tomb, and cemetery. Constructed in masonry using cut stone, the building follows the single-domed mosque plan. However, unlike most mosques of this type, which are generally laid out as a horizontal rectangle, Ahi Evren Mosque was built on a vertical rectangular plan oriented toward the qibla. This gives it a distinct originality in both its spatial organization and the perception of its interior volume. The portico to the north of the mosque encompasses part of the tomb of Ahi Evren Dede.
