Editor's Note
The French Consulate of Trabzon was established in 1803, and its first building, which has not survived to the present day, stood in the İskenderpaşa district at the junction of İdeal Street and Asmalı Street. This consulate is understood to have been a two-story Trabzon mansion. Bearing the features of early-period Trabzon mansions, the building was constructed with a hall-type, two-story, garden-set plan. The structure was later moved to the vicinity of Taksim Avenue and rebuilt.
