Trapezus Hipodromu
Trapezus Hipodromu is a ancient site in Ortahisar, Trabzon; In the engraving "Plan of the Ancient Fortifications of Trebizond," published for Armenia by Wagner & Debes in 1898, the remains of the Hippodrome are clearly shown in the area where the present-day Affan Kitapçıoğlu Anatolian High School stands.

Editor's Note
In the engraving "Plan of the Ancient Fortifications of Trebizond," published for Armenia by Wagner & Debes in 1898, the remains of the Hippodrome are clearly shown in the area where the present-day Affan Kitapçıoğlu Anatolian High School stands. Today, the remains that most likely belonged to this hippodrome probably still lie hidden beneath the ground. In Trabzon, which Emperor Hadrian visited twice, various building activities were carried out; among these were a harbor named after him (130–131), a hippodrome, an amphitheater, and aqueducts.
