The Tekfurçayırı Mosque (Erdoğdu Mosque) was rebuilt in 1577 by Erdoğdu Bey, the Governor of Trabzon, after a small masjid that had previously stood on the same site fell into ruin. Belonging to the group of mosques with flat wooden ceilings (sakıf), the building was constructed using masonry techniques that combine cut stone and rubble stone. Designed on a square plan, the mosque was conceived together with the garden to its north, and its entrance section is recessed and without a portico. In front of this entrance stand four wooden posts that support the hipped wooden roof.
