Tahtalı Mosque was built in the 19th century and belongs to the Seyyid Hüseyin Foundation. Counted among the group of mosques with flat wooden (sakıf) ceilings, the structure has a nearly square, rectangular plan. It was built using masonry technique with rubble and cut stone. The mosque is covered by a hipped roof; in its original form the roof covering was tile, but during the last restoration this covering was replaced with sheet metal. As a result of unplanned interventions over time, the mosque's original architectural character has been largely lost.
