Editor's Note
Coşandere Bridge is a single-span stone bridge with a two-centered pointed arch, built over the Coşan Stream (Meryemana) in the Maçka district of Trabzon, along the historic caravan route that connected Sümela to Maçka and descended to Gümüşhane via Karakaban. Built using infill-wall technique with yellow finely dressed tuff stone in the arch and roughly dressed basalt in the spandrel walls, the structure is dated, on the basis of its construction technique, no earlier than the 19th century.
