Editor's Note
In excavations at the 13th-century Seyyid Burhaneddin Cemetery in Kayseri, a kümbet from the Anatolian Seljuk period was found. The structure, brought to light through the research of historian Mehmet Çayırdağı, is being uncovered through the cooperation of the Metropolitan Municipality and the Museum Directorate. It was determined that the upper floor of the kümbet had collapsed and that the lower floor had over time been used as an ossuary. The excavation work was reported to be expected to last about a month, with efforts continuing to find the inscription. The structure is thought to belong to the early Seljuk period.
