The Tabaklarönü Mescidi's construction date is not known with certainty, but it is understood to have existed before AH 627 / AD 1229-1230, in the 12th-13th centuries. It stood in the old Tabaklar (Tanners') Bazaar and Quarter of Kayseri, on what is now Talas Avenue and Seyyid Burhâneddin Boulevard, south of the Han Mosque, on the site of today's Pirdedeoğlu Apartment building. In its final, much-altered and ruined state, the building collapsed in 1951, and its plot was sold by the pious foundations. The building once had three repair inscriptions, now lost.
