Editor's Note
The Emir Sultan Mescidi was built in the late 14th or early 15th century and adjoins the west wall of the domed tomb of the same name. The small mosque has a rectangular, north-south oriented plan, and its north facade has sunk below road level because of accumulated fill. There are slit windows in the south and east walls and a half-octagonal mihrabiye niche in the northeast. Niches were later opened on either side of the mihrab; the building is covered with wooden tie-beams and supported by two wooden columns. Passage to the tomb is provided not by a door but by a votive window later opened in the west wall.
