The Saint Joseph Jesuit School was opened by Jesuit priests in the Kiçikapı district of Kayseri, alongside the Saint Basil Jesuit School. Saint Joseph operated as a girls' school and Saint Basil as a boys' school. Both schools were run by a director known as Monsieur Bob. They were ratified by a treaty/document dated 1901 and licensed on 7 Kanun-ı Evvel 1321, which corresponds to roughly December 1905. The Jesuits' educational activities in Kayseri began even before the Saint Joseph and Saint Basil schools opened. Their establishment of schools in Kayseri dates to the 19th century.
