The Hacı Kılıç Cemetery once lay in the center of Kayseri, within the bounds of the Serçeönü neighborhood. Taking its name from the Hacı Kılıç Mosque just to its east, this cemetery covered a broad area extending from across the mosque all the way to the Sahabiye Madrasa. Now completely gone, this cemetery was once known as one of Kayseri's largest and most important burial grounds. Within the cemetery grounds there was also, strikingly, an old Roman funerary monument.
