Editor's Note
The Cürcürük Mescidi (Masjid) was built in AH 1123 / AD 1711. One of its inscriptions bore this date with the phrase "Halil Bin Mahmud in the neighborhood of Bektaş," while another mentioned the renovation process of 1929. Thus it was understood that the building's first patron was Halil, son of Mahmud, and the patron of the second construction phase was Hamamcızâde Seyyid Hacı Hamdi. The masjid was located on Badem Street in the old Emirağa neighborhood, but it has not survived as it was demolished. The masjid had a rectangular plan running north-south.
