In August 1526, an Alevi named Baba Zünnun raided the mansion of Mustafa Bey, the governor (sancak beyi) of Bozok, and rose in revolt with his forces. He then met and defeated the troops sent to put down the uprising at Kayseri. Hürrem Pasha, Berham Bey the governor of Kayseri, and Ali Bey the governor of İçel died in this clash.
