Editor's Note
Location: It stands in the village of Mollaveyis (Ülkü) in the Çamlıhemşin district of Rize. History: There are two dated inscriptions on the lower floor of the mosque: the first, on the exterior facade, reads "What God has willed, 25.4.1951," and the second, on the east wall of the interior, reads "What God has willed, 1296 AH (1878)." Besides the inscriptions, archival documents concerning the mosque state that it was built by Hacı Abdullah, son of Hacı Ali Ağa, and that upon Hacı Abdullah's death in 1774 his son Ali succeeded him as imam and preacher. The document shows that the appointments continued until around 1809.
