Location: It stands in the village of Yağcılar, formerly known as Velkü-yi Rize, in the İkizdere district of Rize. History: Two inscriptions bearing different dates have been identified on the building. The inscription dated 1299 AH (1881) is carved into the east wall, while that dated 1324 AH (1906) is on the keystone of the medrese entrance. An archival document concerning the mosque has come to light: in a record dated 1892, Sürgünoğlu Ahmed Efendi bin İbrahim of the village endowed two thousand five hundma kuruş for the mosque, built by benefactors of the village, with the yearly proceeds to be given to its imams and preachers.
