Editor's Note
Location: It stands in the town center of the İkizdere district of Rize. History: Two dates appear above the mosque's entrance door. The first is 1875, stated to be the construction date, and the second is 1978, relating to a repair. Besides these dates, there is also a four-line inscription set within a rectangular cartouche on the minbar door. It reads: 'Süleyman Hamid? of Trabzon, of the Türk family; this is the charitable work of Ahmed Tevfik Efendi of the Türk family of Trabzon, director of the sub-district. Maker Halil Usta, son of Tavukçu, year 1320/1902.' No archival document concerning the building could be found.
