Köprügören Castle is a medieval fortress on an east-west axis, located 30 km from Yusufeli at the entrance to the village of Köprügören, on the bank of the Çoruh River. Because it lies within the village settlement, it has been largely destroyed, but its rubble-masonry west walls have been well preserved to the present day. A small-scale structure, the castle faces the threat of being submerged under the waters of the dam.
