Location: It stands in the village of Kayabaşı in the Kalkandere district of Rize. History: According to the Ottoman inscription hidden among the decorations on the wooden panels of the prayer hall's entrance door, the building was constructed in 1311/1893. The inscription reads: 'Year 1311, Gedik oğlu ...zir Adem.' A report dated 14 September 2012 suggests that the building was commissioned by Mahmut Çeboğulları. The archival records concerning the building state that in 1765 there was no mosque in the village and a new one was built, with the duties of imam and preacher given to Hasan.
