Location: It stands in the Taşçılar Neighborhood, recorded by its old name Tulun, in the Kalkandere district of Rize. History: No inscription giving the building's construction date or its patron could be identified. A foundation (waqf) record relating to the building was found. According to the document, the mosque in the Taşçılar Neighborhood was commissioned by Ali bin İsmail, and in 1775 the duties of imam, preacher, and trusteeship were granted to its patron Ali for one akçe. Upon Ali's death in 1825, his son Selim was appointed. From this record it is clear that the mosque's history dates back to around 1775.
