The Günebakan Quarter Mosque was built on land sloping north to south in Trabzon's Dernekpazarı district. Dating to 1869-1870, the building was constructed in the masonry technique using stone and wood. The rectangular mosque consists of a prayer hall, an open portico, and a U-shaped women's gallery. Its four-sided hipped roof is covered with traditional Turkish tiles, and its wide eaves are supported by woodwork. The prayer hall has a mihrab with plain stonework, a wooden minbar, and a richly carved preaching pulpit.
