The Kalecik Quarter Mosque lies about 3 km from the center of the Araklı district and was built in 1910 (AH 1327). The multi-domed, rectangular building has a stone mihrab arranged in the Empire style, featuring a rich decorative program of vine branches, grape clusters, palmettes, and Baroque-influenced ornament. The mihrab's original decoration has been partly damaged by recolorings carried out in recent years.
