Editor's Note
The mosque is located on Şehit Kadir Aydın Street in the Çavuşlu quarter of Görele district. According to the inscription above its entrance, it was built in 1874 (1292 in the Hijri calendar). A marble inscription bearing the date 1292 was later placed over the original inscription. Built in masonry, the structure has a rectangular plan running north-south. Rough-dressed stone was used as the material in the body walls. The minaret of the mosque, which consists of an arcaded portico and a prayer hall, was built in 1992 through the joint efforts of the local people.
