Editor's Note

Bedrama (Petroma) Castle sits on natural rock overlooking the Harşit Valley, in the village of Örenkaya in the Tirebolu district of Giresun. Who built it is disputed: one view attributes it to the Hacıemiroğulları beylik, another to the Genoese, who were active in the region's trade. Built of block and rubble stone, only a small part of its walls survives today.
