Kale Köy Castle is a historic fortress on the Amasya-Tokat road, built on a high rocky site just past Ezinepazarı, raised during the Kingdom of Pontus to provide road security in the region. Dated to Late Antiquity, only a few wall traces survive of the structure today, and its plan cannot be made out. Abandoned and fallen out of use in later periods, the castle is significant for the strategic role it played in protecting the caravan route.
