The Çelebi Mehmet Medrese (Sultaniye Medrese) was built in 1414-1415 in the centre of Merzifon by Ebu Bekr b. Muhammed el-Müşeymeş, on the order of the Ottoman sultan Mehmed I. Its first teacher was Ferîdüddîn-i Dîvânî, and it stands right beside the Çelebi Mehmet Medrese Mosque.
