Editor's Note
The lodge stood in Bektaş village, Vezirköprü district, Samsun province. Little is known about Sündük Baba. He is said to have been a companion of Hacı Bayram-ı Veli and a student of Şeyh Sadi. He died in 1432. The foundation (vakıf) he established provided a livelihood for many people (Tuzcu, Ali, Vezirköprü Meşhurları, 2010). Although he is known to have later opened a dervish lodge in Bektaş village, the lodge has not survived to the present day.
