Set in a position commanding its surroundings, the fortress dates, according to written sources, to the 14th century. Ordu Mahallesi was among the settlement areas of the Tacüddinoğulları Beylik that ruled the region in the 14th century. The fortress is thought to have been built or used during this period. Now largely destroyed, it has been declared a First-Degree Archaeological Site and is currently the subject of a rescue excavation. Source: https://karadeniz.gov.tr/
