Editor's Note
It stands in Güveçli Village on a spot commanding the Erbaa Plain. The site is entirely rocky, steep, and craggy. On the eastern side of the fortress there is a long cave reached by descending a flight of steps. Village elders relate that the cave once had more than a hundred steps inside, but after the interior was filled in this dropped to around twenty-five, and that the caves were connected at floor level to the stream below.
