Editor's Note
Horoztepe is a mound (höyük) just east of the town of Erbaa in Tokat. It dates to around 2300 BC, with some finds pointing back as far as 4000 BC. Roughly 300 metres in diameter, the mound belongs to the Hatti civilization, and its finds resemble those of Alacahöyük in structure, form and ornamentation.
