Editor's Note
Built in 1235 as a hospital (şifahane) by Atabey Cemaleddin Ferruh on the orders of the Seljuk ruler Alaeddin Keykubad, its hospital section has been completely destroyed. The later-added Darülhadis, along with the masjid and tomb, are among the valuable structures that have survived to the present day. The Darülhadis was added in 1242. During the period when it served as a Mevlevihane, cells for the dervishes, a refectory, a residence for the sheikhs, and similar annexes were built. The main portal has a flat lintel and is joined in the middle by a keystone in the form of a double dovetail made of two pieces.
