Editor's Note
It was built in 1891 by the Jesuits or the Augustinians of the Assumption. The building, which was rebuilt after burning down in 1893, along with the small church beside it, was vacated after 1918. The school building and the adjacent chapel were used for many years as the Kocaeli Provincial Treasury building. Today the buildings stand empty.
