Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Kıyırlı village in the Körfez district of Kocaeli province. The inscription in the center of the arched niche on the fountain's facade reads: "The charitable work of Hacı İbrahim, son of el-Hac Osman, patron of good works and benefactions, year 1257 (AD 1841/1842)." It was registered as an immovable cultural asset requiring protection (group 2) by decision no. 1293 of the Kocaeli Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural and Natural Heritage, dated 2 February 2010. It was restored in 2016 under a project commissioned by the Real Estate and Expropriation Department of the İSU General Directorate.
