Editor's Note
Helenopolis, also known as Drepana or Drepanon, was an ancient town in Bithynia in northwestern Asia Minor, on the southern side of the Gulf of Astacus. First a Thracian and later a Greco-Roman and Byzantine settlement, it has been identified with the modern village of Hersek in the district of Altınova, Yalova Province. It is traditionally considered the birthplace of Saint Helena.
