Editor's Note
It was built in the first half of the 17th century by Mirza Bey, tutor to Sultan Murad IV. Set on a high base, the mosque has a square plan and is covered by a dome. Its walls are of cut stone, with reused stones and bricks used in places. As the mosque has undergone various repairs over the years, it has lost its original character. No notable decoration can be seen in the prayer hall or the mihrab. The portico was demolished in 1944 and rebuilt in a manner that does not harmonize with the building.
