DATE OF CONSTRUCTION: According to the inscription on the left side of the fountain, it was built in AH 1064 / AD 1654. PATRON: According to the fountain's inscription, it was built by Hacı Ahmet Efendi, son of Hüseyin. INSCRIPTION: There are three inscriptions belonging to the fountain. Within a circle 0.30 meters in diameter above the fountain's arch is written, in celî sülüs script in Arabic, verse 30 of the Surah Al-Anbiya meaning "and We made every living thing from water": "Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, and We made from water every living thing."
