It was built in the mid-19th century by Alaybeyli Ali Ağa. The structure has a longitudinal rectangular plan and was designed with a distinctive lath-and-plaster (bağdadi) dome. Its dome is covered on the outside by a roof clad in Turkish-style tiles. In 1966, the mosque's narthex and a minaret adjoining the qibla façade were added.
