Editor's Note
The outer walls of the castle are of dry-laid stone and have survived to the present day. The plan of the castle is clearly visible, with a narrow-gated entrance and semicircular bastions. Six of the bastions are on the south and four on the north. On the west and east sides, stone walls 2 meters thick have survived intact to the present day. It is stated that the castle dates from the Hittite period (1500 BC).
