Editor's Note
The Büyük (Yeni) Mosque, located in the center of our province, was built in 1912 on a rectangular plan. Its outer walls, 1.10 m thick, are of rubble stone with cut-stone corners. On the lower floor, the five windows on the east and west façades, 1.40 m wide and 3.42 m high, are topped with round arches and framed with cut-stone surrounds. On the east and west sides, a single round-arched side door with a stone surround provides entry to the mosque. The main entrance is on the north façade. A rosette is carved into each of the upper corners of the doorway.
